Glassly (“the app”, “we”) is an AI skincare analysis app. This policy explains what data we handle and why. The guiding principle is simple: your face photos are analyzed on your device and are not uploaded.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information — your email address and an encrypted password, when you create an account. Authentication is handled by Google Firebase Authentication.
  • App usage state — your subscription status and a count of how many free scans you have used. This is stored against your account in Google Firestore so it works across your devices. No images are stored in this record.
  • On-device data — your scan history and face thumbnails are stored on your device (in local storage) so you can review and compare past scans. Face thumbnails and camera images never leave your device.
  • Scan results sync (Premium only) — if you have an active subscription, the numeric results of a scan are saved to your account so you can view your history on glasslyai.com. This is limited to: the date of the scan, your five metric values (hydration, clarity, firmness, barrier, glow), the overall score, and an acne severity value. No photograph, thumbnail, face-geometry data, or age/gender estimate is ever included. Free accounts sync nothing. You can delete this at any time by deleting your account.

2. Camera & photos

The app uses your camera to capture frames for skin analysis. This analysis runs entirely on your device using on-device machine-learning models. Camera frames are processed in memory and discarded after analysis; full-resolution photos are never uploaded to us or any server.

3. No third-party image analysis

Glassly contains no feature that sends image data to any third party. All skin analysis runs on-device. (An earlier optional classifier that could send a thumbnail to Hugging Face was removed in version 4.14.)

4. Payments

Subscriptions (Plus and Pro) are processed by Polar, our merchant of record. Polar handles your card or payment details — we never receive or store them. We only receive your subscription status (active / not active) and the email used at checkout, so the subscription can be linked to your account.

5. How we use information

  • To create and secure your account and let you sign in.
  • To enforce the free-scan limit and unlock premium features for subscribers.
  • To provide the core skincare analysis and recommendations.

We do not use your data for advertising, we do not run third-party analytics or trackers, and we do not sell your data.

6. Data sharing

We share data only with the service providers required to run the app: Google Firebase / Firestore (authentication and account state) and Polar (subscription payments). Neither ever receives your photos — no provider does, because images never leave your device. Premium scan results (numbers only, see section 1) are stored in your own Firestore account record.

One further service is contacted, and only when you choose to use it. If you search for a cosmetic product in the app's Products screen, the text you type is sent to Open Beauty Facts (world.openbeautyfacts.org), a free and open community database, so we can look up that product's ingredient list. Only your search text is sent. No photo, no scan result, no skin metric and no account identifier accompanies it, so Open Beauty Facts cannot tell who is searching. If you never search for a product, the app never contacts them.

7. Data retention & deletion

  • On-device data (scans, thumbnails) is deleted when you clear the app’s data or uninstall the app.
  • To delete your account and the associated Firestore record (email, subscription status, scan count), contact us at the email below and we will remove it.

8. Security

Account access is protected by Firebase Authentication, and account records are protected by security rules so that you can only access your own data.

9. Children

Glassly is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

10. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
